Greater Portland Health was happy to participate in Pride Portland! Festivities and be among the record 160 marching groups and crowds at this weekend’s Pride Parade. Pride Portland! brings people in the Greater Portland area together for an annual parade and festival to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ movement, raise awareness of the community’s ongoing struggles, and foster an environment of inclusivity, accessibility and solidarity. Portland’s pride parade has been a June tradition for over 40 years, representing Maine’s LGBTQ community. This year’s theme was Rise Up, which refers to racial justice, inclusiveness, solidarity, and economic empowerment.

Greater Portland Health had close to 50 people marching and also hosted a table in the festival. Many thanks to our team of unicorns, candy magicians, and percussionists representing local pride and health care for all!
