On September 20th and 21st Greater Portland Health partnered with Envolve Health and the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved to bring the Vision Van to our 180 Park Ave. health center. The Vision Van was parked in front of the health center for two days and offered free vision screening services as well as free prescription glasses as needed. Services were open to all in the community. Over the two days, we served 195 people total. In addition, 97 patients received prescription glasses and 53 received reading glasses.
Since its inception in 2015, the Vision Van has provided eye care services to children and adults in underserved communities who may not have access to these services with the goal of improving the overall health of underserved communities. We were happy to take part in this event and support improved eye health in our community. Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who made this possible!
